With only a week to go till the religious holiday that is the opening of the 2017 Duck Hunting season, I thought it would be a good time to put out my goals for this season.
My main one is to give Ace the best possible chance of retrieving ducks in different situations and continuing his development. Over the past 12 months I feel like I have been able to make a lot of improvements to him and hopefully, these can continue. He is far from being the perfect dog but he has been a big learning curve for me as my first dog.
Another goal is to get Justin out and about to hopefully make some more memories like this one with his first duck and with him hunt some new areas around the Wairarapa.
Hopefully, the weather is kinder to us this year with at least some wind as opposed to the last two which have been very still and clear.
